Empire Landing is the first major rental housing complex built in Burbank in the last quarter century. “There is a great need for new luxury residences in this jobs rich area and Empire Landing fills that gap,” says Alan Casden, CEO of Casden Properties LLC, the project developer. He notes that the last major rental home community completed in Burbank was The Promenade built by Casden Properties in 1985.

The general contractor is Casden Builders Inc. and the architect was Johannes Van Tilburg, FAIA, of Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh.

“Empire Landing is contributing significantly to housing in Burbank and I also appreciate the efforts made by Casden Properties to reduce traffic impacts,” says Burbank Mayor Anja Reinke. “These premier residences are within walking distance of shopping, entertainment and jobs and create the great urban lifestyle that today’s discriminating consumers are seeking.”

Located at the corner of Buena Vista Street and Empire Avenue, Empire Landing is a transit oriented development within walking distance of the Bob Hope Airport Metrolink station. It is also close to two major freeways – I-5 and I-134 – and Bob Hope Airport. A two-acre park, Kid’s Castle, and public recreation center are immediately adjacent.

Empire Landing comprises craftsman-style residential buildings set in lushly landscaped gardens. The low-rise complex offers resort-style living with recreational amenities and resident services and is fully gated with a guard-staffed entry. It also includes 1,000 sq ft of retail space that will be filled with resident-serving convenience shops.

Empire Landing was designed to fit the requirements of a wide variety of tenants from single people to large families. The selections include one- and two-bedroom configurations ranging from 760 sq ft to 1,140 sq ft. An innovative choice at Empire Landing is a private townhome with an attached two-car garage. These townhomes offer two, three and four bedrooms as well as live/work space in sizes ranging from 1,120 sq ft to 1,585 sq ft. There also are 28 affordable flats.

Starting prices range from $2,200 for a one-bedroom apartment, $2,800 for two bedrooms and $3,400 for townhomes.

The 5,500-sq-ft clubhouse is handsomely appointed and includes a residents’ lounge, executive business center and conference room on the first floor. A state-of-the-art fitness center on the second floor is equipped with Technogym machines, the top fitness line among 5-star resorts and hotels worldwide. It is exclusively for resident use. A full-sized swimming pool with a spacious sundeck and spa complete the recreational facilities available to Empire Landing residents.

A Resident Services staff member is on-site to assist residents with a variety of needs such as pick-up and drop off of dry cleaning and laundry; housekeeping arrangements; daycare; pet-sitting and dog walking; couriers, FedEx, UPS and postal service; assistance in the business center; restaurant reservations; airport transport and discounted passes to events and theme parks. As at other Casden properties, Empire Landing residents will enjoy established relationships with local vendors and restaurants that provide discounts exclusively for residents.
