Culler Joins Clark & Sullivan

North Highlands-based Clark & Sullivan has hired Todd Culler as a project manager for the company's Sacramento office.

In his position, Culler will be responsible for project planning, drafting contracts and purchase orders, schedule and quality control, change order negotiations, and project close out for design build public works projects.

Culler earned a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from California State University, Chico. His career highlights include such projects as the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Target Walnut Creek, East Palo Alto Boys & Girls Club, and the Camden Community Center in Campbell.

Sukut Hires Damore, Promotes Grattan

Lawrence Damore has joined Santa Ana-based Sukut Construction as project manager.

Prior to joining Sukut, Damore worked for Yeager Skanska. A 12-year veteran of the construction industry, Damore's resume includes a portion of the Alameda Corridor in which he oversaw construction of a bridge to separate Pacific Coast Highway traffic from the busy Alameda Corridor railroad lines and Alameda Street in Wilmington.

Damore's most recent endeavor was managing the Olympic Parkway/I-805 Interchange improvement project in Chula Vista.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of California, Irvine and a Master's in business administration from Pepperdine University. Damore is a registered professional engineer.

Sukut also recently promoted Dave Grattan to lead the company's new environmental division. As division president, Grattan will head up Sukut's specialized team of environmental experts.

In his new position, Grattan will oversee contracting of new development sites with environmental and/or hazardous challenges, as well as landfill-related work for public and private clients. His team will provide specific expertise to assist owners in meeting the requirements for groundwater protection, soil remediation, and gas and leachate collection. It also will ensure a suitable environment for re-vegetation and development of closed sites.

Grattan joined Sukut in 1995 as a project manager in its grading division. During his 11-year tenure, he has overseen a diversity of grading and site development projects - including Quail Hill, an Irvine Company development and one of the largest grading projects in Sukut's history.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and an MBA - both from the University of California at Irvine. Grattan is certified in hazardous waste operations by the state of California.

Ware Malcomb Hires Ringler for Interior Design

Irvine-based Ware Malcomb has hired Dan Ringler as interior design director.
Ringler contributes more than 13 years experience in interior architectural and design, including visioning, programming, space planning, interior finishes and color selection with additional expertise in furniture specifications and lighting design.

He has worked on a multitude of design projects including office buildings, corporate headquarters, and tenant improvements.

Ringler received his Bachelor of Science in design from Arizona State University.

Three Architects Join MBH

Alameda-based MBH Architects has hired new employees to increase the firm's project workload in both its Alameda and Newport Beach offices.

In its Alameda office MBH has hired Thomas Houlihan as project manager for the Retail Studio. Houlihan brings 18 years of experience in construction management, store design and development for retail and hospitality projects. He has previously worked for Fry's Electronics, Best Buy and Target Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture in design /art from Hope College in Holland, MI.

MBH also has hired Carolyn Lai as job captain to the Specialty Retail Design Studio in its Alameda office. Lai brings 10 years of construction / project management experience to MBH. She recently worked for Gap Inc. as a visual/client Specialist in Corporate Architecture. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from California College of the Arts

In the Newport Beach office, MBH has hired Lisa Zigenis as a drafter in the Developer Retail Studio. Zigenis comes to MBH from Delphey Construction in Oakland where she worked as a drafter. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. She also participated in an Architectural Doctorate program at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

Hyatt, ValleyCrest Team on New Studio

Calabasas-based ValleyCrest Companies has hired award-winning landscape architect and urban designer James Hyatt to start Hyatt Studio, a newly- established landscape architecture and planning firm in Denver.

Under his leadership, Hyatt Studio will create imaginative outdoor environments for the world's premier resorts, residential getaways, master-planned communities and unique shopping destinations.

Formerly a vice president and principal at EDAW, one of the world's leading planning and design firms, Hyatt brings more than 20 years of landscape architecture experience to ValleyCrest.

Known within the industry for his ability to integrate big picture functionality and economic factors with highly detailed design, Hyatt has received numerous awards from the American Society of Landscape Architecture, the American Institute of Architects, and the Urban Land Institute.
