The Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts is evaluating general contractor bids for the $98.6-million Woodland Courthouse replacement project in Yolo County. The design-bid-build project's architects are Dreyfuss & Blackford and Fentress Architects. The five-story, structural steel-framed, above-grade building measures 145,000 sq ft and will feature 14 courtrooms and space for court operations. The San Bernardino Association of Governments (SANBAG) is evaluating bids for its $36-million Interstate 10/Citrus Ave. Interchange project in Fontana. The project involves replacing an I-10/Citrus Ave. interchange bridge structure overcrossing, widening the Union Pacific Railroad overhead bridge, adding a westbound loop on-ramp, realigning and widening other interchange ramps, constructing retaining walls and reconstructing the I-10 drainage channel. Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is evaluating general contractor bids for its $55-million Science/Technology Building project at Santa Monica High School. University of California, Merced is evaluating multiple prime trade bids for the second phase of its Summits student housing development. The project, actually the fourth phase of the university's dormitory expansion, includes 105,000 sq ft in a four-story and a five-story building. Contracts include sitework, concrete, structural steel, waterproofing, fireproofing, plumbing, HVAC and electrical. EHDD is the architect on the project; Pro West Constructors is the construction manager; GFDS Engineers is the structural engineer; Sandis is the civil engineer; The Engineering Enterprise is the electrical engineer; and Taylor Engineering is the mechanical engineer. 12/12 Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority requests pre-qualified prime contractor bids for its $240-million to $280-million San Gabriel Trench Grade Separation project, located within the Union Pacific Railroad Alhambra subdivision and commencing in the city of Alhambra. The grade separations at Ramona St., Mission Rd., Del Mar Ave. and San Gabriel Blvd. will be accomplished by lowering the railroad track at these street crossings into a 2.2-mile trench and then constructing bridges over the trench at each location. 12/13 The Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking pre-qualified general contractor bids for the $25-million San Andreas Courthouse project in Calaveras County. The new 44,600-sq-ft, two-story building will feature four courtrooms, a holding area, building support space and two-story lobby entry. Target start date is Feb. 1. The architect on the project is DLR Group; structural engineer is Buehler & Buehler; civil engineer is Wood Rodgers; electrical engineer is The Engineering Enterprise; and mechanical engineer is Capital Engineering Consulting. 1/11 Transbay Joint Powers Authority is seeking subcontractor bids for its Transbay Transit Center project in San Francisco. Contracts include water/sewer/electrical, joint trench, glazing, stormwater pollution prevention and temporary power. The 1-million-sq-ft Transit Center building will be approximately 1,600 ft long, 180 ft wide, 60 ft below grade and 60 ft above grade. It will include station platforms, elevated bus level, a 5.4-acre park on the roof and bus storage. The $1.6-billion first phase, which consists of replacing the old terminal, is fully funded, with completion targeted for 2017. Webcor/Obayashi Joint Venture is the construction manager on the project, with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects serving as designers. Bid of the month

Long-Life Pavement and Widening project on Interstate 710 On Jan. 12, the Dept. of Transportation, State of California will begin evaluating contractor bids for its $170-million Long-Life Pavement and Widening project on Interstate 710 from the Los Angeles River Bridge to the Ramona Blvd. undercrossing in western Los Angeles County. Target start date is March 1. Project will pave roadway with long-life pavement and widen the roadway and bridges. Caltrans is the project engineer.
