Los Angeles/Long Beach Market Report

Multifamily construction--for-sale condos, loft-style apartments
and affordable rentals--are under construction or in planning
in many neighborhoods in Los Angeles and Long Beach. The recent
demand is driven by a number of factors: low-interest rates,
population growth, second-home buying and a desire to live
closer to work to avoid long commutes.
And in suburban Downey, a shuttered aerospace manufacturing
site on 160 acres is preparing for a second life as a home
to a shopping center, medical center and production studios.
