Barker Selected to Lead Hillcrest

Jim Barker has been named president and CEO of Bakersfield-based Hillcrest, a provider of HVAC, controls, plumbing and pipefitting services in the Bakersfield area.

Hillcrest, originally founded by Bill Wagner in 1950, is a subsidiary of Stamford, Conn.-based EMCOR Group Inc., an international provider of mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services.

Barker has 20 years of experience in mechanical services in the San Joaquin Valley. He comes to Hillcrest from Illinois-based Grainger Inc., where he held senior management positions, most recently as corporate sales manager.

Barker earned a bachelor's degree in business from Fresno State University. He is a member of the Bakersfield Builder's Exchange, Habitat for Humanity and Coyote Club, a youth organization that supports junior athletics in Bakersfield.
