Californian Elected to Chair ABC in 2004

At its Oct. 25 meeting in Miami, Fla., the board of directors of the Associated Builders and Contractors elected a Californian woman. to its highest national positon.

Carole Bionda of Napa-based Nova Group Inc will be ABC's chair in 2004. Region 3 Vice Chairman Gary Roden of Dallas, Tex.-based Aguirre Corp. was elected to serve as ABC's 2004 chair-elect.

The board also elected regional vice chairmen for Regions 2, 4 and 6. David Meyer of Meyer Brothers Building Co. and ABC's Heart of America chapter was re-elected Region 2 vice chairman, while Robert Moore of Doster Construction Co. and ABC's Alabama chapter was elected Region 4 vice chairman.

Michael Winzig of American Technical Systems and ABC's Northern Ohio chapter was re-elected as Region 6 vice chairman. Additionally, Jack Darnall of Brasfield & Gorrie was appointed secretary/treasurer.

The 2004 Executive Committee will be as follows, effective Jan. 1:

• Region 2 Vice Chairman: David Meyer, Meyer Brothers Building Co., Blue Springs, Mo.
• Region 3 Vice Chairman: To be appointed in December
• Region 4 Vice Chairman: Robert Moore, Doster Construction Co., Birmingham, Ala.
• Region 5 Vice Chairman: William Fairchild, R.W. Murray Co., Manassas, Va.
• Region 6 Vice Chairman: Michael Winzig, American Technical Systems, Cleveland, Ohio
• Region 7 Vice Chairman: Lee Strickland, Evans Strickland Best, Inc., Erie, Pa.
• Secretary/Treasurer: Jack Darnall, Brasfield & Gorrie, Birmingham, Ala.
