AGC San Diego Elects New President

Arthur L. "Tex" Barnhart, an 18-year, construction industry veteran and chief operations officer of Barnhart Inc., was elected president of the Associated General Contractors of San Diego.

San Diego-based Barnhart Inc. manages an average of over $400 million dollars of construction work each year. Tex Barnhart has virtually done it all in his career--estimating, bidding, supervising and managing projects totaling billions of dollars in construction costs.

In addition to being a board member for the past eight years for AGC of San Diego, Barnhart also was chairman on the organization's government relations committee. He also held various positions on the safety, public building and Navy liaison committees. Currently, he is a trustee on the AGC San Diego Apprenticeship Trust.
