Construction Starts on 110,000-Sq.-Ft. Project in Vista

The PRES Cos. of Newport Beach has begun construction on a two-story, build-to-suit office/light manufacturing building in Vista for dj Orthopedics.

The general contractor is the San Diego office of Swinerton Builders and the architect is the San Diego office of Ware Malcomb.

Construction is planned for completion by the first quarter of 2006.

The site of the 110,000-sq.-ft.project is in the Vista Oaks Business Park.

dj Orthopedics, Inc. is a global medical device company specializing in the design, manufacture and marketing of rehabilitation and regeneration products and services for the non-operative orthopedic and spine markets.

The building will serve as dj Orthopedics' corporate headquarters and will include offices, a full service gym, CERF lab, locker rooms and an executive suite with a balcony overlooking an exterior terrace. The project also includes about 15,000 square feet of light manufacturing space.

Design Underway for Business Park in Oceanside

San Diego-based Smith Consulting Architects has design underway for Seagate Corporate Center, a 385,000-sq.-ft. business park on a 25-acre parcel of vacant land north of Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside.

Smith was retained by project developer Seagate Corporate Center. The corporate center is a joint venture of The Carltas Investments and The Koll Co., with John White representing Carltas and Charlie Abdi representing Koll.

Construction is slated to begin in late summer, with completion in 2006.

The design of the center includes 16 concrete tilt-up buildings, each designed as a flex-use facility to accommodate numerous uses. The site plan includes a variety of industrial R&D and office buildings for sale or lease, with overall unit sizes ranging from 2,100 sq. ft. to 40,000 sq. ft.

Scott Cairns is the principal-in-charge for Smith, with Gary Baker serving as design principal and Carl King as project manager.

Steve Wurzel Part of Exec Changes at Limbach Facility Services

Pittsburgh-based Limbach Facility Services has announced changes in their executive management team.

Charlie A. Bacon is president/CEO; Charlie Boyd: executive vice president/special strategic projects and sales; Craig Montgomery: executive vice president/southeast region; Hal Ruffner: executive vice president/central region; Dennis Sacco: executive vice president/northeast region; Steve Wurzel: executive vice president/west coast region.

Established in 1901, Limbach is a privately held, mechanical specialty contract and service firm and has an office in Los Angeles.
