Merit Property Management Enters Bakersfield Market

MISSION VIEJO -- Merit Property Management Inc., one of the largest community association management companies in the United States, has expanded into the Bakersfield area.

Merit was recently selected by the board of directors to provide community association management services for two communities at Seven Oaks in west Bakersfield. The scope of work includes board support, community management, financial and customer services for the homeowners living in the communities.

"We are thrilled now to serve the Bakersfield area, and to have been invited by the board of directors to provide support services to these two fine communities and their associations," said Melinda Masson, president and CEO of the professional services company.

The community of Grand Island consists of 422 single-family homes. At build-out, projected for 2005, the neighborhood will offer more than 700 homes. Seven Oaks West, South of Chamber, encompasses 232 single-family homes.

Merit will also provide management services for the new-gated community of Windermere within Seven Oaks West, South of Chamber. Now in development, completion of the Windermere neighborhood is expected by 2007.

At more than 1,600 acres, the Seven Oaks master-planned community features numerous parks, schools and the Seven Oaks Country Club with an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Muir Graves. Castle & Cooke Inc. is developing Seven Oaks.
