California Landscape Design Firm Opens Phoenix Office

PHOENIX - Arcadia Studio, a full-service landscape architecture firm specializing in innovative residential, institutional, municipal and commercial design, has opened an office at 3939 East Campbell Ave., #104, in Phoenix.

It's the Santa Barbara-based firm's first office outside California. Graham H. Smith, an associate with Arcadia, manages the Phoenix office.

"Since we opened Arcadia Studio in 2000 our client base in Phoenix has grown steadily," said Carol Puck Erickson, one of three founders of the company.

"The opening of the Phoenix office and the appointment of Graham to head it allows us to better service our Arizona clients and to expand into municipal and corporate projects," she added

"Our work has always incorporated the use of native and drought tolerant plants so our work in Arizona is a natural extension of our on-going philosophies."

Smith moved to Phoenix from Denver, where he was a project manager for Wenk Associates. His work in Colorado included: Aurora Sports Park, a 215-acre, $18 million active recreation park; Lowry Sports Park, a 45-acre, $7 million active recreation park; Lowry Parcel T Park, a 5-acre, $500,000 neighborhood park; and Creekside Park, a 16-acre, $750,000 multi-use park.

Smith is a registered landscape architect in Virginia and Arizona, a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is certified by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.
