McGraw-Hill Construction Launches New Online Channel for Delivery of Construction Industry Information

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The McGraw-Hill Construction Information Center has been launched on the Web by ECNext, a web business technology and services provider. The e-commerce Web site, http://construction.ecnext.com, is branded for McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Cos.

McGraw-Hill Construction connects people, projects and products across the design and construction industry with unique information content that can be purchased by credit card and downloaded instantly from this site. The Web site enables McGraw-Hill Construction to sell this high-value business information to existing customers via the web, while gaining visibility with the rapidly increasing number of people using web search engines to find and acquire critical market intelligence about the design and construction industry.

The McGraw-Hill Construction Information Center provides readily available content as a "self service" purchase for anyone needing in-depth business information ranging from a full report to a single specific chart. For example, annual "Top Lists" and Sourcebooks published by Engineering News-Record and the "Special Sector Study: The Steady Pulse of Healthcare Construction" produced by McGraw-Hill's Dodge Analytics are available for instant download in PDF-format. The e-commerce solution includes the full range of search engine marketing, online sales, and digital rights management capabilities required for successfully selling business information on the Web.

The ENR "Top" Lists available in the McGraw-Hill Construction Information Center are developed each year by surveying thousands of firms to create more than a dozen U.S. and international rankings of contractors, design firms, construction managers, environmental firms and other industry segments based on their revenue. ENR produces three annual Sourcebooks: Top 500 U.S. Design Firms, Top 400 U.S. Contractors, and Global Construction. The Design Firm and Contractor Sourcebooks include market analysis and rankings in eight major industry sectors, rankings in almost 50 project types, and a directory with address, phone number and name and title of the principal officer. The Global Construction Sourcebook includes similar information for the leading international and global design firms and contractors.

The Dodge Analytics "Special Sector Study: The Steady Pulse of Healthcare Construction" is a comprehensive study on the healthcare segment of the construction industry. This is a must-have for anyone who needs comprehensive, accurate and timely detail about the huge $16 billion healthcare construction market. Customers can purchase the whole report or only the sections they need for immediate download.

"We are excited about the prospects for this new sales channel and expect our ECNext-powered site to provide benefits to our existing customers while also driving new clients to our site," said James A. King, senior vice president and chief information officer, McGraw-Hill Construction.
