Price joins KTGY as principal in Santa Monica
Architect Jack Price , AIA, LEED AP, has joined Irvine-based KTGY Group as the architecture/planning firm’s newest principal. Price comes to KTGY from HKS, Inc. of Dallas.
Price has been responsible for some of the largest building and construction projects in California. Completed developments are located throughout the Los Angeles area and in Long Beach, Irvine, San Diego, Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose.
Price is based in KTGY’s Santa Monica office, which the firm established in 2005 to address its expanding focus on urban development, creating design/planning teams for retail, residential, mixed-use, and commercial commissions.
Price is certified with the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards and is a licensed architect in California and Colorado.
IBE promotes 3
IBE promotes 3 Los Angeles-based MEP firm IBE Consulting Engineers has promoted three of its staff members to senior positions. The appointments include one new principal to the IBE leadership ranks, Bungane Mehlomakulu , PE, LEED AP, who was promoted from senior associate. The internal promotions also include two new senior associates, Sandra Corazzelli , RA, LEED AP, and Jane O’Neill both rising from associate positions.
Newly minted principal Mehlomakulu joined IBE in 2002, straight out of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mechanical Engineering. A senior mechanical engineer, Mehlomakulu is an expert in leading-edge, advanced technologies, specializing in the design of radiant systems.
Registered architect and new senior associate Corazzelli signed on with IBE in 2009 to bring more of an architectural project management viewpoint to the engineering firm. A seasoned project manager, Corazzelli holds a Bachelor of Science, Architectural Studies, from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
O’Neill has the distinction of being IBE’s first official employee, joining in 2000. She has served as office manager, devising and implementing internal systems and organizational strategies that have kept IBE running efficiently.
SmithGroup names Diefenbach office director in SF
SmithGroup has named William Diefenbach office director of its San Francisco and Los Angeles practices. Diefenbach succeeds James Hannon, who will focus solely on the firm’s national health practice. Hannon led the 160-person California practice for the past six years.
Diefenbach will leave his longtime post as San Francisco’s research and learning studio leader, with a successor to be named soon.
AGC Announces Staff Changes
Bob Norling has joined Associated General Contractors of California as the new director of industrial relations, Southern California. Norling comes to AGC with over 25 years of experience in union labor relations, benefits, human resources and insurance risk management. Before joining AGC, he was with member firm Penhall Co., where he was responsible for their labor and human resource management.
Kate Smiley has joined AGC of California as the new manager of safety, health and regulatory services. She will be based out of AGC’s West Sacramento offices. Smiley brings with her over 15 years experience in occupational safety, health and environmental services. Prior to joining AGC, she was with Turner Construction in California and Washington, where she evaluated the safety leadership and management processes.
Dave Jones has been promoted to vice president-field services and will be responsible for geographic region from Fresno to the Oregon border. Jones has been with AGC for over 20 years and has served as staff assignee for the Associates and Specialty Contractors Councils.
