Suffolk Grabs Gold for Palisades
Project
The Irvine office of Massachusetts-based Suffolk Construction
Co. received a top honor for the Sunrise Assisted Living of
Pacific Palisades project.
The 40-unit, 27,000-sq.-ft. facility was awarded the Gold
Achievement Award for Small Assisted Living Housing from the
Seniors Housing Council of the National Association of Home
Builders. This category received 13 entries that represented
a variety of assisted living facilities throughout the United
States.
Suffolk Construction is a Boston-based, privately held company
that has been run by President and CEO John Fish for 20 years.
Suffolks full-service offices in Massachusetts, Florida
and California provide preconstructon, construction management,
general contracting and design-build services.
The company constructs building projects in education, residential,
institutional, health-care, office, telecommunication, hospitality
and retail markets.
Changs, MBH Capture 3 Awards
Alameda-based MBH Architects and P.F. Changs China
Bistro of Scottsdale, Ariz., recently earned three national
design awards for restaurants in Rancho Mirage and Palo Alto.
In the 2002 Chain Store Age Retail Store of the Year design
competition, the Rancho Mirage restaurant, located in The
River shopping complex, won first place in the restaurant/food
court category. The same restaurant also received an Award
of Merit in the 2002 ISP/VM&SD International Retail Store
Design Awards in the sit-down restaurant category. The P.F.
Changs at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto
earned the Grand Prize in the restaurant/food-service category
of the 2003 NASFM Retail Design Awards.
P.F. Changs China Bistro is noted for its stunning
use of stone tiles in various colors and textures, sumptuous
fabrics, finely crafted accessory details and lily- pad lighting
combined with pinpoint fixtures.
