DiNunzio Promoted by W. E. O'Neil
W.E. ONeil Construction Co. of California has promoted Senior Estimator
Vincent DiNunzio to chief estimator.
His 13 years of senior estimating experience includes budgeting projects
for Harrahs, City of Los Angeles, Disney, Baxter Healthcare and
Universal Studios.
Ware Malcomb Adds 2 Designers
Irvine-based architect Ware Malcomb has hired designers Jinger Tapia
and Jason DeHann.
Tapia has extensive experience in the design of a variety of commercial,
corporate and academic facilities.
DeHann has a strong background in design, including model building, renderings
and computer graphics. He received his Master of Architecture degree from
Montana State University.
Clark & Sullivan Adds 2 to Sacto
Staff
Reno-based Clark & Sullivan Constructors has hired Brendan Mulholland
as a project manager and John Biery as a project engineer. Both will be
employed in the general contractors Sacramento office.
Mulholland will supervise the construction of Placer High School and
the new San Joaquin Council of Governments building. He has more than
10 years of construction experience, and most recently served as construction
manager for a $15 million medical center and ambulatory building project.
Biery will work as a cost and scheduling engineer, assisting superintendents
and project managers with meetings and job site visits as well as updating
job schedules.
Prior to joining Clark & Sullivan Constructors, Biery worked as an
assistant project manager.
Alameda Corridor Agency Hires New Director
John Doherty has been named director of construction and engineering
for the $2.4 billion Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority, the Carson-based
public agency that built the Alameda Corridor freight rail expressway.
Doherty, who for seven years served as the director of construction for
the agencys joint venture Alameda Corridor Engineering Team, succeeds
Timothy B. Buresh.
Doherty will oversee all engineering design and construction management
firms hired by ACTA. The authoritys current focus is building the
Pacific Coast Highway Grade Separation, a 1-mi.-long bridge that will
carry street traffic over Alameda Corridor mainlines, branch rail lines
and Alameda Street in the Los Angeles port community of Wilmington.
Prior to his service on the Alameda Corridor, Doherty performed consulting
roles for DMJM + Harris and Morrison-Knudsen on the Metrolink Commuter
Rail Project, Honolulu Rapid Transit and California High Speed Rail Study.
Doherty was formerly the vice president of operations of the the nations
largest commuter railroad, the Long Island Railroad, where he served 24
years in various engineering, construction and operations capacities.
Martinez Joins Snyder Langston
Irvine-based Snyder Langston has hired Frank Martinez as vice president,
business development. He has more than 12 years of experience in construction
sales and marketing.
Martinez was most recently with Orange-based DMJM Holmes & Narver.
He has worked for Sverdrup and CRSS.
In his role with Snyder Langston, Martinez will help coordinate and support
Snyder Langstons project executives in the companys core markets
of industrial, office, retail, automotive and hospitality.
Gehry Joins Jury of Pritzker Architecture
Prize
Frank Gehry of Santa Monica-based Frank O. Gehry & Associates will
rejoin the Pritzker Architecture Prize jury that selects a laureate each
year.
Gehry is known for many architectural accomplishments including the American
Center in Paris, Concord Amphitheater in northern California, Experience
Music Project in Seattle, the Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall
in Los Angeles.
Gehry won the Pritzker Prize in 1989 and subsequently served as a juror
from 1993 through 1995, resigning when the requirements of his practice
demanded his full attention.
The Hyatt Foundation sponsors the 23-year-old Pritzker Architecture Prize.
