Landy Named President of DMJM Design
LOS ANGELESAECOM Technology Corp. has selected Ray Landy
as president of DMJM Design, an AECOM company specializing
in architecture, engineering, and program and construction
management.
Landy had been serving as DMJM Designs executive vice
president, overseeing the companys global architecture
and engineering practice.
He has held a number of leadership positions in the firm during
the past 23 years, including management of the program and
construction management practice. In that role, he was responsible
for overseeing such contracts as the renovation of the Pentagon,
as well as major national programs for the Federal Emergency
Management Agency and NASA.
He also recently provided executive management for the new
$1.2 billion American Airlines terminal at John F. Kennedy
International Airport in New York City and Universal Studios
CityWalk projects in Los Angeles.
Landy holds a masters degree in urban planning and architecture
from UCLA.
Granite Names New Leaders
WATSONVILLEGranite Construction Inc., one of the nations
largest civil engineering contractors and construction materials
producers, named William G. Dorey, 58, as president. Dorey
retains the title of chief operating officer. He succeeds
David H. Watts as president.
The Granite board also named Mark E. Boitano, 54, to the position
of executive vice president. Boitano continues as manager
of the branch division.
Watts will continue as chairman and chief executive officer
until the end of the year, when he will relinquish the role
of CEO but continue as chairman of the board. He had served
as president and CEO since 1987.
Owen Joins Carter & Burgess
SACRAMENTOPeter Owen has been named construction services
and business development manager of the transportation programs
unit of Carter & Burgess Inc. He is responsible for California
transportation construction services and business development.
With 39 years of industry experience, Owen joins Carter &
Burgess from HDR-Construction Control Corp., where he served
as vice president/operations director, western states, and
the national technical director for construction services.
Recent assignments included construction manager for the $212
million Sacramento Transit Districts South Corridor
Light Rail Extension and contract manager for a seismic-retrofit
construction inspection contract for Caltrans Office
of Structures.
Owen also has provided construction management and inspection
services to the Bay Area Rapid Transit District, Santa Clara
Traffic Authority, City of Sacramento and the United States
Navy.
Beale Promoted; McAllister, Jackson, Parker
Join Ware Malcomb
IRVINEWare Malcomb has promoted Devin Beale to project
manager in its San Diego office. Beale was part of the original
team that opened the San Diego office two years ago.
The Irvine office has added three new staff members.
Charlie McAllister joins the firm as a senior project manager
for all health-care projects. Her background includes working
as an owners representative for three major health-care
organizations.
Vincent Jackson and Brian Parker have been hired as job captains.
Jackson has nine years of experience. Parker has 10 years
of experience and has worked on a variety of industrial, office
and tenant-improvement projects.
Kharza Joins G&B; Patel Promoted
SAN FRANCISCOGuttmann & Blaevoet Consulting Engineers
has added Mehran Khazra as a principal.
Khazra has 22 years of engineering, management and marketing
experience on commercial, institutional and government projects.
Nav Patel has been promoted to associate. His 15 years of
engineering experience includes mechanical projects, primarily
in health care, laboratory and industrial facilities. Patels
expanded role will encompass increased participation with
the firms management team and marketing responsibilities.
