Taber Consultants Names New President,
2 VPs
WEST SACRAMENTO--Taber Consultants has named Frank Taber
as president and Tom Skaug and Eric Nichols as vice presidents.
Taber, Skaug and Nichols will continue to oversee the firm's
professional engineering and geologic services.
Andy Taber moves from his post as president into a new role
as chairman/CEO.
Ray Taber, founder and original namesake of the company,
will retire from active participation on the board of directors
to act as chairman emeritus.
Frank Taber assumes his post as president after 27 years
of working as a staff and project engineer, and as VP and
principal geotechnical engineer for the last six years.
Skaug brings 20 years of experience to his role as vice president.
He has been with Taber as senior engineering geologist and
manager of environmental geology for 14 years.
Nichols, also a senior engineering geologist, has been with
the firm for 14 years.
Carter & Burgess Hires Rehermann
SACRAMENTO--Clint Rehermann has joined Carter & Burgess
Inc. as a senior survey technician in the firm's Sacramento
survey unit.
Rehermann, an engineer in training, comes to Carter &
Burgess from Marysville-based Genesis Engineering, where he
worked for five years as an engineering technician specializing
in calculating drainage and grading plans, earthwork calculations
for balancing cuts/fills on project sites and CAD drafting.
Also a surveyor in training, Rehermann previously worked
for North Coast Engineering in Paso Robles as a senior engineering
technician.
Yaussi Joins Turley & Associates
SACRAMENTO--Michele Yaussi has been hired as marketing manager
at Turley & Associates, a Sacramento-based mechanical
engineering firm.
In her new position, she is responsible for the overall management
and coordination of marketing activities including business
development, proposal generation, media relations and promotional
activities.
New Associate Principals at M+L
OAKLAND--Carlos Chang and Edward X. Qi have been promoted
to associate principals at San Francisco-based structural
engineer Middlebrook + Louie.
Chang has managed the structural engineering work at Oakland's
Elihu M. Harris State Office Building.
Qi has managed several large building projects in Asia and
the United States, and has co-authored several papers on special
seismic systems.
Kahler New at Smith-Emory
SAN FRANCISCO--Monica Zsutty Kahler has joined Smith-Emery
Co., a construction materials testing and inspection firm,
in its San Francisco office. She will assist with marketing
and project management functions.
Kahler has 19 years of testing and inspection experience
throughout the Bay Are. She has been involved in estimating
and managing testing and inspection services for large-scale
offices, condominiums, hotels, hospitals and schools.
McCarthy Promotes Jennemann
SAN FRANCISCO--McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. has promoted
Stephen A. Jennemann to project director and chief of McCarthy's
Northern Pacific Division, Education Services.
Jennemann is responsible for procuring and managing education
projects in the K-12 and higher education sectors.
As a project director, he will be responsible for the success
of all field operations, including coordination and supervision
of subcontractors, scheduling, job safety, budget and quality
control.
Jennemann's current education services projects include McCarthy's
efforts at the Hillsborough City School District. He is a
20-year McCarthy veteran and has 25 years of construction
experience.
Morlin Management Appoints Senior VP
SAN FRANCISCO--W. Gardner Combs has joined Morlin Management
Corp. as senior vice president.
Combs will be responsible for generating new business and
overseeing the Northern California Region for Morlin Management.
He has extensive experience in project development, negotiation
of purchase and sale documentation, and the operational requirements
of major developments.
Combs previously served as the president of Northwest Asset
Management Co. Inc., an independent, third-party management
company in Northern California that he co-founded in 1983.
Combs was responsible for all aspects of corporate administration,
including oversight of accounting, client reporting, development
of corporate human resources policies, corporate identity
and sales.
Harwood Joins Tucker Sadler as PM
SAN DIEGO--Hamilton Harwood has joined Tucker Sadler Noble
Castro Architects as project manager.
He previously spent three years as project manager for Hoch
Associates in Fort Wayne, Ind.; five years as project architect
for The Troyer Group in South Bend, Ind., two years as job
captain for UC San Diego; three years as draftsman for Krommenhock/McKeown
in San Diego; and three years as project architect for Noble
Design in San Diego.
Harwood has 17 years of architectural experience.
MBH Hires Tobias for Retail Studio
ALAMEDA--MBH Architects has hired Mitchell Tobias as account
director for the Alameda-based firm's new Specialty Retail
Design Studio.
His architectural career spans 16 years, with that time split
between interior design projects and exterior architecture.
Tobias earned a Master's degree in Architecture in 1988 from
UC Berkeley.
Johnson Appointed Office Manager at RBF Consulting
CAMARILLO-Darin Johnson, a vice president at Irvine-based
RBF Consulting, has been named manager of the firm's Camarillo
office.
He has served as project manager/engineer on local agency
roadway design projects, freeway improvement projects, and
freeway concept planning studies in Ventura, Santa Barbara,
Los Angeles, and Orange counties.
Ware Malcomb Hires Olguin, Baird; Promotes
Gabrielian
LOS ANGELES-- Ware Malcomb has hired two new employees and
promoted another in its Los Angeles office.
Patti Olguin and Kristen Baird join the Irvine-based firm
as project managers and Garine Gabrielian has been promoted
to project manager.
As project manager in the Interiors Group, Gabrielian is
responsible for project management, design, client relations,
construction documents and construction phase services.
Olguin also works in the Interiors Group. She has 16 years
of experience in a wide variety of office, retail, entertainment
and hospitality projects.
Baird is part of the Health Care Group. She has 10 years
of experience in health care, commercial office, corporate
headquarters and residential facilities.
Bantle Joins HGA
SAN FRANCISCO--Minneapolis-based HGA Architects has hired
Genevieve Elise Bantle as a project manager in its San Francisco
office.
Bantle most recently served as a project designer and project
manager for The Design Partnership in San Francisco, where
she oversaw work at California State University, Monterey
Bay, and various juvenile justice facilities in California.
She also worked at the San Francisco office of design/builder
McClier Corp. as an assistant project manager responsible
for organizing business practices and the workflow of $900
million worth of international projects.
Krusi Appointed President at Tyco
LONG BEACH--Alan P. Krusi has been named president of Tyco
Infrastructure Services, a unit of Tyco Engineered Products
and Services.
In this new assignment, Krusi will be located at TIS' global
headquarters in Long Beach.
Prior to joining TIS, Krusi was president and chairman of
San Francisco-based O'Brien Kreitzberg; executive vice president
for Los Angeles-based Dames & Moore Group (construction
services); president of construction services for San Francisco-based
URS Corp.; and chief executive officer of RealEnergy Inc.
