Parsons Brinkerhoff Appoints 2 Regional
Managers
SACRAMENTO-Vice President Glenn Suitor and Area Manager
Douglas Sawyer have been named regional managers at Parsons
Brinckerhoff Construction Services Inc., the construction
management arm of Parsons Brinckerhoff.
Suitor will head PBCS operations in Northern California and
the Pacific Northwest. He will be based in Sacramento.
Sawyer will be responsible for operations in Southern California,
Nevada and Hawaii. He will be based in Orange.
Suitor has 20 years of experience in the design and construction
of major transportation projects. Prior to joining PBCS in
1994, he served as a senior bridge engineer with Caltrans.
Sawyer has 26 years of experience in project management,
research/development and business development for major transportation,
infrastructure and facilities projects.
Hook Promoted to VP/Chief Estimator
at Rudolph & Sletten
FOSTER CITY-General contractor Rudolph and Sletten has promoted
chief estimator Joseph Hook to vice president/chief estimator
for Southern California.
In his new capacity, Hook will be responsible for preparing
and tracking cost estimates and budgets for major projects,
from the conceptual stage through the finalization of the
guaranteed maximum price.
A 27-year construction veteran, Hook has played a significant
role in the growth of the estimating department and preconstruction
services in the company's Irvine and San Diego offices. He
has worked in the Irvine office for 10 years.
TCA Hires 2 Project Managers
IRVINE-Thomas P. Cox Architects Inc. has added Shaneen Tuley
and John Brooks as project managers.
Tuley will be oversee a 120-unit, affordable senior housing
project (in conjunction with The Irvine Co.) located in the
Back Bay area of Newport Beach.
She previously worked in Northern California as a project
manager/director at MBH Architects and TWM Architects &
Planners.
Brooks will be working on Legacy Partner's Sunset Lofts project
in Los Angeles-five stories of residential above one level
of retail and four levels of subterranean parking. The project
has 185 units with 14,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurants
fronting Sunset Boulevard.
He was previously employed at Scheurer Architects and JBZ
Architects + Planning, both based in Newport Beach, as a project
architect and senior project manager.
RBF Appoints 3 New VPs
IRVINE-RBF Consulting has promoted three of its top managers.
Brad Mielke, S.E., structural engineering; John Andrew, landscape
architecture and urban design services; and John McCarthy,
P.E., stormwater management all received the appointment to
vice president.
Snyder Langston Promotes 3
IRVINE-Snyder Langston, one of Southern California's largest
builders/developers of commercial and industrial real estate,
has promoted three staff members.
Jason Rich was promoted to project manager, Jane Roslansky
was appointed business development associate and Marivic Ha
was promoted to senior project engineer.
Rich is working in Huntington Beach at Pacific City, where
Snyder Langston is building the Discovery Center, a combination
sales/leasing/information facility for developer Makar Properties.
Rich is also the project manager for Tyrol Plaza, a senior
housing facility in Anaheim.
Roslansky is based in the Manhattan Beach office. She was
elevated to a newly-created position to develop business in
the automotive and retail markets.
Ha is at the LNR/Warner Centerjob site, where Snyder Langston
has built three Class A office buildings and is now constructing
a fourth.
Carrier Johnson Promotes Causey,
Luxom
IRVINE-San Diego-based Carrier Johnson, one of California's
largest architectural firms, promoted Jeff Causey to director
of its Irvine office and Mark Loxsom, who was previously running
the Irvine office, to principal in charge of operations. Both
Causey and Loxsom are based in the firm's Irvine office.
Prior to being named director, Causey was senior associate
and director of public works at Carrier Johnson. He has 25
years of diverse architectural experience. Causey's experience
includes educational facilities, courts and detention facilities,
office buildings, recreational and mixed-use centers, hotels
and residential developments. He has also designed public
and private facilities nationally and internationally in China,
Japan, Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines.
Loxsom now serves as the principal in charge of operations
for Carrier Johnson's San Diego and Irvine offices. As a founding
member and associate principal in charge of the Irvine office,
he has overseen growth at that office from four to 17 employees,
with annual sales increasing from $1 million in 1997 to more
than $3 million in 2003.
He has 20 years of experience in includes work for clients
such as R.W. Johnson Pharmaceuticals, Scripps Research Institute,
UC Irvine and Rockwell International.
Ware Malcomb Promotes Lazatin
IRVINE-Architectural and interior design firm Ware Malcomb
has promoted Rudy Lazatin to director/auto dealerships.
In his new role, Lazatin will be responsible for business
development and overseeing all auto dealership projects in
the Irvine office. Ware Malcomb is currently working on several
auto dealership projects throughout California, including
Lexus of Glendale.
Lazatin previously worked as project manager and director/corporate
services for Ware Malcomb's Irvine officce. He has been with
the firm for 20 years and possesses 40 years of design experience
on commercial, office, industrial, institutional and automotive
facilities.
McCarthy Promotes 3 Project Managers in
Orange County Office
NEWPORT BEACH-McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. has promoted three
project managers: Bonnie J. Martin to director, education
services; Craig A. Swenson to director, education services;
and Max A. Burcham from senior project manager to on-site
project director.
Martin is the on-site director for the $173.3 million Newport-Mesa
Unified School District Measure A School Modernization Program,
responsible for program/construction management of 28 projects
throughout the district. Martin's 12 years in the construction
industry includes extensive experience in K-12 construction
management.
In his new role as director, education services, Swenson
is in charge of multiple education projects for McCarthy's
Education Services Group in the Newport Beach office. Swenson
has been involved with McCarthy projects such as the $312
million Hollywood & Highland retail-entertainment center,
the $42 million School of Medicine and the $26 million Salk
Institute East Building, both at UC San Diego.
A McCarthy employee for 17 years, with 22 years of construction
industry experience, Burcham has been influential in the success
of numerous projects such as the $44 million Little Company
of Mary Hospital Hannon Tower Addition, $25 million Loma Linda
University Medical Center Proton Beam Therapy Facility, and
$24 million Hollywood Galaxy retail center.
WATG Promotes Prince-Lezaja
NEWPORT BEACH-Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, Architects,
Designers, Planners and Consultants, has promoted Stacy Prince-Lezaja
to director of human resources.
Since joining WATG in 1999, Lezaja has been associated with
the development and implementation of human resources programs
for the firm.
Sessa Appointed VP at Sudberry
SAN DIEGO-Marco A. Sessa has been appointed to serve as vice
president of development at Sudberry Properties Inc., a San
Diego-based real estate development and asset management firm.
Sessa is responsible for managing the entitlement process
and development of Quarry Falls, a 230-acre, mixed-use development
located in the Mission Valley area of San Diego.
Prior to joining Sudberry, Sessa served for more than four
years as project engineer for San Diego-based Reno Contracting
Inc., where he oversaw more than 670,000 sq. ft. of build-to-suit
office developments. Sessa also served as a staff engineer
with Aguirre Engineers in Englewood, Colo., and as a construction
supervisor for Hampleman Architects in Denver, Colo.
He received a Master of Real Estate Development degree from
USC.
Tucker Sadler Hires Perraullt
SAN DIEGO-Marc Perrault has joined San Diego-based Tucker
Sadler Noble Castro Architects as a job captain.
Perrault is responsible for coordination of in-house technical
documentation.
He previously spent two years as project architect in the
Del mar office of HCG Architects. He also has worked for HMC
Architects, PDG Architects, Design Plus and CWA Architects.
Perrault's 26 years of design experience includes extensive
planning and design work for primary, secondary and collegiate
facilities in San Diego County.
