Huntsman Architectural Group Promotes 6

San Francisco-based Huntsman Architectural Group has promoted Myrna Mendoza, Meaghan Ahlquist and Skip Soskin, AIA, to senior associates; and David Meckley, Garry Brown and Sascha Wagner to associates.

Mendoza is working with Federal Realty Investment Trust at Santana Row in San Jose. She joined Huntsman six years ago and has 22 years of experience with large-scale high-tech facilities and financial institutions.

Ahlquist has been with the firm for seven years and served as the project architect for the consolidation of more than 310,000 sq. ft. of BART's headquarters in Oakland.

Soskin is the project manager for a five-year infrastructure improvement project at Palo Alto Civic Center. He has 35 years of experience in projects for commercial and technological facilities. He also oversees the firm's quality assurance and control program.

Meckley has lead key design efforts for projects like RedEnvelope's and AKQA's new offices in San Francisco. He served last year as president of the Northern California chapter of the International Interior Design Association.

Brown serves as project architect for ongoing work with Boston Properties at the Embarcadero Center and is also working on various projects with Federal Realty. He has 10 years of experience in the architecture industry with an emphasis on commercial interiors.

Wagner is the project manager for the Moody's KMV headquarters project at Foundry Square and tenant development work at 123 Townsend, both in San Francisco. He is LEED-accredited and has nine years of experience in interior design profession.

Swinerton Promotes 5

Swinerton Builders has promoted Charlie Kuffner, Gary Rafferty, Eric Foster, Frank Foellmer and Steve Johnson.

Kuffner was named president of Swinerton Builders, Northern California, which incorporates divisions in San Francisco, Oakland and Santa Clara. He participates in the development of leading-edge technologies, such as 4D CAD, and is a member of the Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering at Stanford University. He joined Swinerton Builders in 1981. He earned a master of science degree in engineering management from Stanford.

Rafferty was named president of Swinerton Builders, Southern California. He will manage the divisions in Los Angeles, Irvine and San Diego. Rafferty is a registered professional engineer and has 30 years of experience in design and construction. He received a master of science degree in civil engineering from Stanford.

Foster was promoted to vice president and general manager of Swinerton Builders, Northern California. He will oversee the San Francisco building and tenant improvement divisions, and Oakland and Santa Clara divisions. He is LEED-accredited and has been with Swinerton since 1981.

Foellmer, division manager in Los Angeles since 2003, was named senior vice president. He opened the Orange County division in 1997. He joined Swinerton Builders in 1980 as a project engineer.

Johnson was promoted to vice president and manager of the Oakland division. He previously was operations manager in Oakland. He joined Swinerton in 1997 as operations manager of Swinerton's industrial division.

Barnhart Promotes 3 to Vice President

Barnhart Inc., a San Diego-based general contractor and construction manager, has promoted Sumeet Gadi, Mike Barnum and Sean Hulen to vice president.

Gadi is managing the Ramona Unified School District's school modernization program. He has been with Barnhart for nine years and has 11 years of experience in the construction industry. He earned a master's degree in construction management from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Barnum is overseeing construction of an aquatic facility at Temecula Valley Unified's Great Oak High School and the Chino Hills Government Center and Community Park. He joined Barnhart in 2002.

Sean Hulen, a Barnhart employee for two years, has managed such projects as Etnies Skate Park in Lake Forest, Laguna Hills City Hall and Canyon Crest Academy for the San Dieguito Union High School District. He has 15 years of construction experience.

Clagett Joins SmithGroup as Development Director

SmithGroup has hired Kacey Clagett as development director.

She will direct and coordinate all public relations and business development activity for the firm's San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.

Clagett is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women, Society of College and University Planners, CoreNet Global, Society for Marketing Professional Services and the Urban Land Institute.

Bultman Joins Carter & Burgess as Senior PM

Steven Bultman, P.E., has joined Carter & Burgess, Sacramento, as a senior project manager with the firm's transportation programs division.

He has 22 years of experience in the management and design of infrastructure for public works' projects, primarily in surface and air transportation for city, county and federal agencies.

Bultman serves on the board of directors of the Association of California Airports.

DMJM Harris Names Morton Director of Business Development

DMJM Harris, a worldwide architecture and engineering company, has hired Steve Morton as vice president and director of business development for Northern California. Based in Sacramento, Morton will lead DMJM Harris's highway/bridge business throughout the Northwest.

Morton has led the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects for 25 years.

He is a registered civil engineer and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Coonan Joins MBH's New Studio

Chris Coonan has been hired as studio director for MBH Architects' new retail developments studio in Alameda.

He is directing the MBH architectural team for Shea Properties' Marina University Villages, a 70-acre, mixed-use retail project in Marina; is completing construction administration for the renovation of Sherwood Mall in Stockton; and is involved in conceptual plans for retail buildings in Monterey and Walnut.

Coonan previously was senior design project manager in the corporate property development and architecture department of Minneapolis-based Dayton Hudson Corp. and Target Corp., where he worked since 1997.

He has a master of architecture degree from the University of Minnesota's College of Architecture, and is currently a member of the Professional Advisory Council for the College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska.

Ware Malcomb Hires Campbell

Bruce Campbell has joined Irvine-based Ware Malcomb as senior project manager in the Irvine-based architecture firm's Los Angeles office.

Campbell will oversee staff and operations for the interior architecture and design group and manage select projects. He has 30 years of architecture and interior design experience.
