"The high vantage point of this photograph really shows off the symmetry of the hall and the curved architecture of the acoustic panels," he says. "One can see how the curved panels complement the curved seating areas below. You really get a sense of the intimate concert experience that will be produced here." Jansons shot the photo with a Nikon D7000 at 12mm focal length and f/8 at 1/3 of a second.
In the bottom photo, Venables saw the work at the Shiloh IV Wind Project as an unusual opportunity to grab shots that depict Duran & Venables' equipment and its employees at work. Venables positioned himself to capture the front loader in action with the operator visible and the wind farm in the background. He shot the photo with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II at 70mm focal length and f/5.6 at 1/200 of a second.
